Developing teams: Team development

Aim: To coach teams for high performance

This results in:

  • Improved motivation, commitment and co-operation
  • Increased productivity
  • Improved use of time and energy
  • Structured next steps to define the way forward

How?

  • Pre-workshop team analysis – different variations possible
  • Off-site training to promote insight and openness
  • Indoor or outdoor activities to experience teamwork for real life transfer
  • Facilitated sessions for problem resolution
  • Focus on strengthening a productive team culture

The core course focuses on:

  • Clarifying team’s vision, purpose, roles, responsibilities
  • Experiencing co-operation in small team challenges with debriefing e.g. problem solving, performance, co-operation, conflict resolution, leadership
  • Creative solutions for team challenges – results of survey analysis
  • The current team development stage and what is needed to move on
  • Building good working relations and team ground rules
  • Making a diverse team work effectively: How individual strengths and weaknesses complement each other (e.g. DISC preferences)
  • Developing a structured and agreed action plan

Depending on needs we can also include:

  • SWOT analysis for the team
  • Feedback within the team (giving and receiving)
  • Problem solving through creativity
  • Team values
  • Resolving existing team conflicts
Content and approach vary depending on the team’s needs and the results of an in-depth briefing. This is an example of what we might cover.
